The Buchanan County Courthouse roof replacement project is set to begin on Monday, June 26, 2023.   The local contractor, Ambrozi Contracting, will begin setting up a perimeter fence and scaffolding and then start tearing off the existing slate tile near the dome.  There will be extensive work done on the dome as well.   Within the next few weeks, scaffolding will be erected on the interior of the courthouse going from the basement all the way up into the dome.  The main entrance to the courthouse, and all offices, will remain open for access to the building; the public is asked to use caution when entering the building and walking on the sidewalks surrounding the building.  Because of construction equipment being on site, parking around the Courthouse may be reduced.  It is anticipated that the project will take approximately four months.
