Buchanan County Tax Assessment Information

For your convenience, we have provided the Buchanan County Tax Levy Chart. For any questions about this document, you would want to contact the taxing entity (i.e. state, county, city, or school district).

The County Clerk's office provides assessed valuations to all taxing entities in Buchanan County, which they use to help set their tax levies for each year. The Property Assessment Appeal Form for the Buchanan County Board of Equalization is listed below.

The Property Assessment Appeal Form can be mailed to the Buchanan County Clerk's Office, 411 Jules Street, Room 121, St. Joseph, MO 64501. The form can also be scanned & emailed to the Clerks Office, or you can return your form in person to our office.

Assessed valuations for each political subdivision are available by contacting our office at 271-1412. We will need to know which political subdivision valuation you need. We have valuations 3 times per year: June, after Board of Equalization (September), and end of year.
