Meet the Buchanan County Clerk / Election Authority Mary Baack-Garvey

Mary has currently started her 4th term as County Clerk.  She started working in the Clerk’s Office in August of 2000.  She graduated high school from Bishop LeBlond in 1994 and then graduated from Missouri Western State College (back then was still college) in 1998 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology.

She’s proud to be a Sustaining member of the Junior League, alumni of Leadership St. Joseph, also served on the board for Big Brothers/Big Sisters for several years and is currently a member of P.E.O. Chapter FP, the Chamber Council, along with being a school board member for Bishop LeBlond and on their alumni board.

She married her husband John in 2004 and have two daughters together, Emma and Sarah.  Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, both of which are very important to her, along with their two English Bulldogs, Bailey and Tank.  Mary is a HUGE Kansas City Chiefs fan, Iowa Hawkeye fan and of course, Neil Diamond! Another hobby that keeps her and John busy is they are part owners of the HiHo Bar & Grill.
